Frequently Asked Questions
Please read this section very thoroughly. We've provided answers for several very important and often asked questions that you will need to know about, when transporting your running or non-running vehicle.
Q: Do you require a deposit upfront?
A: If you take one thing away from this information, the answer
is ABSOLUTELY NOT!! Most companies want a deposit immediately
when they take your order. For your protection, WE HIGHLY
RECOMMEND that you ONLY pay a deposit with an auto transporter AFTER arrangements have been made to pick up your vehicle.
Q: Will I get faster service if I place my order with more than
one company?
A: This is a very important question that you need to know
information about. The proper way to place an order is to FIRST
get all the quotes that you can, and then, call the company with
the POLICIES THAT PROTECT YOUR BEST INTERESTS. I am sure that
the company you choose will work with you on what you
want.
The reason that you should never book your order with more than
one company is quite simple. If everyone did this, it would
throw the whole trucking industry into a mass of unorganized
confusion. Could you imagine driving 100 miles to pick up a
vehicle only to arrive and discover it has already been picked
up by another transporter? This would add cost to all truck
companies, therefore driving up the cost of transporting
vehicles. It will not make any difference who you place your
order with, since ALL companies will place your order On the
SAME national load board. The truck driver or dispatcher will
see your order no matter which company you place your order
with. If the driver or dispatcher sees the same order on the
board with two different companies, they will not even bother
calling on your order to avoid the possibility of driving
hundreds of miles to pick up a vehicle that may not even be
there any longer.
Q: After I place an order with a company, do I need to sign and
return a contract to consider my order officially booked?
A: If you give the pick up and delivery information to the
company and give them a verbal OK to find a truck, you are
considered under contract from most companies in all states, We
shall immediately post your order on the national load board
after you give us the names and phone numbers of both the pick
up and delivery locations. This will give you the fastest
service possible. If you are just discussing your vehicle move
with a company and have not decided who is going to get your
order, do not give the company your pick up and delivery
information.
Q: If I do not get an actual dollar quote from you, why not?
A: We are a reliable transport company and receive numerous
quote requests daily. We try to get to each and every request
promptly, but if you do not get yours when needed, please feel
free to call us so we may go ahead and process your request
quickly.
Q: Why did I receive quotes that are $200 or more apart?
A: There are two factors we need to consider when assembling a
quote that often has a bearing on the quote differences: (A) If
an auto carrier has a 1500 mile trip planned, a three—car
carrier would need more money than a ten-car carrier to pay
their expenses to operate their truck for the same trip.
(B) Some companies bid on your vehicle move assuming that you
need your vehicle moved immediately. Other companies bid on your
vehicle thinking you don’t care how long it takes if you can
save money by waiting. Since no one really knows your individual
situation, it is IMPOSSIBLE for us to accurately quote your
vehicle move without a certain amount of guessing. Many times,
rates can vary $200 - $300 for the same vehicle move, depending
on your particular needs. We would appreciate you calling so we
can discuss the different rates for your specific needs.
Q: Is my vehicle insured during the transportation process?
A: Federal D.O,T. laws require that every carrier have cargo
insurance. The cargo insurance is provided with $0 deductible to
you. The carrier is 100% responsible for any damages. The driver
will perform a pre-load and a post load inspection on your
vehicle. If any damages occurred during the transit, the person
signing for the vehicle at the point of delivery must note the
damage without exception. Without a signature it is impossible
to verify with the insurance company when the damage occurred.
Q: Are there any additional costs on top of any quotes I receive
from you?
A: YES & NO! Any quote that is made is made with the assumption
that your vehicle runs, steers, drives, has brakes and is
transported on an open carrier. Never let a company tell you
that you must buy cargo insurance through their company. (See
above.) Also, never let any company tell you that they are
charging you a fuel surcharge, sales tax, road tax, etc. Quotes
should already include all of these charges. To bid low and then
add on later is not acceptable. The only time that the quote
could be increased is, if during transit, your vehicle becomes
inoperable and some companies may need to add $100 to $150.
Q: Do you use terminals?
A: We never allow a carrier to take your vehicle to a terminal.
Terminal companies need to gather a full load of vehicles going
from point A to point B. This may take several weeks before they
will send in a truck to pick up a full load. Avoid these
companies for your own protection.
Again, if we do not call you within 48 hrs of receiving this
email, please feel free to call and Fred will assist you with
your vehicle move.
